00:01:01:21 – 00:01:23:05
Hey everybody, this is Jesse Gilmore, founder of Niche and Control and creator of Leverage for Growth. Welcome to the Agency Leverage edition. Today I am here with Anthony Bacopoulos, the founder of Anth.Tech, a digital marketing agency that helps build your brand authority and online presence. Thanks for coming to our show today. Yeah, thanks for having me out here.
00:01:23:06 – 00:01:49:20
Jesse Absolutely. Tell us a little bit about the history and background of your agency. Certainly. So dive into it and start tech. I started it when I was in sixth grade as a YouTube channel, specialized in tech reviews and unboxing and stuff like that. But then just a couple of years later, I wanted to get into a membership system on our website and and that developed our own site, different platforms, log in and membership systems.
00:01:50:07 – 00:02:08:09
But then at that point, there were some local companies I was in contact with. They saw my site and it just developed into that. And then from their word of mouth and then transformed to an agency. While I was still, you know, in high school or maybe ninth or 10th grade, and then I graduated last year. So at this point, we’re just scaling and developing systems and going from there.
00:02:09:11 – 00:02:33:23
That’s awesome. So you started this whole concept when you were in sixth grade? Yup. Yeah, that’s right. So it was in there that YouTube channel creating content had the camera here facing into the setup that we’re talking on right now. And that’s some awesome stuff. Yeah. What what led you towards creating that YouTube channel of you can bring yourself way back to the start of it and what, what started it.
00:02:34:13 – 00:02:53:04
Yeah, I have those original photos when I was like seven, eight years old, taken apart computers and pieces and, you know, at that point there I was always into technology and the tech review channel I had, you know, like, you know, many PC builds get into that whole end of it, you know, let alone like new iPhones or Samsung phones coming out covering that content.
00:02:53:04 – 00:03:14:17
So I always been a little interested in technology and navigating the web. And now we’re into A.I. and bringing stuff back into that tech in our name and using A.I. within our partners and our systems. Mm hmm. Awesome. And so you talked about going from, like, being a YouTube personality and starting that and then going into a kind of freelance work.
00:03:14:17 – 00:03:29:12
And then that turned into an agency. And there are multiple kind of shifts that have happened throughout that time. Can you talk a little bit about some of those shifts when you knew, okay, I’m now I’m going to do freelancing, okay. Now I’m going to bring on a team. Now, you talk a little bit about that. Yeah, certainly.
00:03:29:13 – 00:03:45:22
So, I mean, come into the agency that was, you know, for I’d put a year on and that’s about 2018. And within there I was kind of solo for about, you know, good two years there, then got into some other content creators that were local friends with them and we had some, you know, great cameras and demos and whatnot.
00:03:45:29 – 00:04:08:16
So doing local content creation, videography and photography, website design development for our local partners and different companies around, you know, I was kind of the primary developer within that learning WordPress and all these systems. So that’s why I started, you know, many years prior developing that membership platform for the YouTube channel, which would have specialized reviews and different content for those different people.
00:04:09:07 – 00:04:29:18
So yeah, within that just developed systems and, and different processes and then developed into our different developers now that can take on some of that work. So definitely some great stuff there, allowing me to more focus on the business, our lead generation systems. And I don’t love it. Mm hmm. Awesome. And did you always know that you were going to be an entrepreneur?
00:04:29:27 – 00:04:52:25
Was it like just in your blood and you were either surrounded by entrepreneurs or how did you know you wanted to start a business? Yeah, I mean, always interested in business. Like, that’s definitely been a thing starting off. If we go with like, that lemonade stand idea, right? Doing that when I was younger and just looking to do things on my own versus a job and being locked into a 9 to 5.
00:04:53:04 – 00:05:14:25
So within that there I’ve always sort of had that mindset know throughout, you know, so in middle school, high school and just throughout that kind of realm and always focusing on the business and doing things even in class, right? So I was just always focused and our family is consisted of, of different entrepreneurs and different businesses. So suddenly kind of in that DNA, as you suggested.
00:05:14:25 – 00:05:37:18
And that’s that’s what it’s about. Mm hmm. And before we started recording, you talked about an uncle that also owns an agency. Yeah. So he’s got a an agency. They focus on brand creation within podcast. So, you know, some of what we’re doing now, they work with other podcasters and manager editing and for social media presence, and that’s what they focus on.
00:05:37:27 – 00:06:03:18
Like it’s been about 15 to 20 years they’ve been in that business. So it’s definitely been interesting now. Mm hmm. And being close to your uncle and that kind of entrepreneurial spirit and getting to see it and kind of rubbed off on you as well. Oh, yeah. I mean, within there, he’s helped along the way, especially on the lead gen system, working with clients that flow and process and as they’ve had some of those systems in place and, and they’ve got a team of many people.
00:06:03:27 – 00:06:24:21
So within that definitely been great assistance from there. Awesome. And so we’ve got you do where you’re at right now and you have a new co-founder and then also a couple of team members. What is like what is something that you wish you would have known like maybe a couple of years ago or even one or two steps before that?
00:06:25:00 – 00:06:42:00
You know, if if you were to know that it would save either time, energy or money. I mean, the biggest thing, right, is adding to the team in terms of alleviating different tasks. So now we have a lot of different tools. And, you know, given that it allows us to run a pretty lean and clean in that regard.
00:06:42:12 – 00:07:00:26
But, you know, at the time there’s always been these things called virtual assistants, right? You probably heard of this in agency space, Vas everywhere. You can do onboarding tasks or lead tasks and anything like that. But the biggest thing has been find people to do the work in itself at a quality rate and pace and all that fun stuff there.
00:07:01:05 – 00:07:20:29
So in that regard, it’s all those different systems and using them optimally. But within that, I mean, adding to the team that, you know, to do it many years ago. Sure, that would have been awesome. And within that there but yes, then within the sort of focus on growing and and in different systems and optimization, that’s really what’s right.
00:07:21:21 – 00:07:41:07
It’s kind of like that work smarter versus harder type of idea. Mm hmm. Absolutely. And so what are you excited about in the near future? Like, what are you working on right now? And maybe what, success in the next 1 to 3 years? Yeah. So within the next, in a matter of time here is bringing it back into, like, the core of it.
00:07:41:08 – 00:08:05:19
You know, an attack of the dot tech ending, right. As focusing on the content creation and all that fun stuff that are which traditionally speaking isn’t too much like taking the website design and development that definitely is. And the different systems that we integrate with the business to help them become more optimized, whether it’s adding your services for them or optimizing their own processes, you know, going and doing that flow as well.
00:08:07:06 – 00:08:27:12
But yeah, within that system, that’s, that’s kind of the fun stuff there. Yeah. This is the time for tech, isn’t it? Yeah. Awesome. And what’s the best way for people to get in touch with you or do you have any offers for them they could take advantage of? Yeah. So the contact me, the best email is just Anthony and Anthony Tech.
00:08:27:21 – 00:08:50:23
And again, that’s here on the show to A.H.
