You are now listening to Leverage for Growth. Hey everybody, this is Jesse P. Gilmore, founder of Niche in Control and creator of Leverage for Growth. Welcome to the Daily Leverage Edition. Today’s topic is this, Beyond Circumstances, Discovering Your Inherent Self-Worth. Sit back, relax, and welcome to today’s Daily Leverage. In today’s episode, we’re going to explore a profound aspect of our being, our self-worth. It’s a topic that goes beyond circumstances and achievements and deep dives into our core. So let’s get started. Let’s understand what self-worth is. Self-worth is the sense of one’s own value or worth as a person. It’s not about what we have, what we have achieved, or what others think of us. Rather, it’s about our intrinsic value simply for existing. And it’s important to recognize that self-worth does not stem from external achievements or validation. A study by the University of Michigan found that basing self-worth on external sources led towards more stress and anger and less control over one’s life. Our true self-worth comes from within and is independent of circumstances. Recognizing that self-worth comes from within gives us resilience. It helps us face challenges without fear of damaging our self-image. In fact, research from the University of Nevada found that having high self-worth improved resilience and overall well-being. And so, let’s understand self-worth across all of our domains. So for body, Value your physical health for the way that it supports you, not for how it appears to others. For being, cultivate a deep respect for yourself and your own journey, regardless of external validation. For balance, nurture relationships that respect your inherent worth and reflect the same for others. For business, make decisions based on the value that you bring, not solely for financial gain. And so, I encourage you to take about 20 or 30 minutes and start to reflect on your own self-worth. Ask yourself, what does self-worth mean to me? And how can I honor my inherent value regardless of the external circumstances? Understanding that our self-worth comes from within gives us resilience, peace, and a clearer perspective. By tapping into our inherent value, we can navigate life’s challenges with greater grace and confidence. So now is the time for the daily leverage. So where in your world, whether in your life or business, have you been focused on circumstances and questioning your self-worth? Is it in your life with your health and body? Is it in your life with your spirituality or self-direction? Is it in your relationships with your spouse, partner, or kids? Is it in your business, finances, or team? And once you’ve located where you’ve been focused on external circumstances and you know what you need to change, my question to you is this. What are you willing and able to do about it today? That is the end of the daily leverage. This is Jesse P. Gilmore. You’ve been listening to Leverage for Growth podcast.
