You’re now listening to Leverage for Growth. Hey, everybody, This is Jesse Gilmore, founder of Niche and Control and creator of Leverage for Growth. Welcome to the Daily Leverage Edition. Today’s topic is this: Doing what is required. Sit back, relax, and welcome to today’s Daily Leverage. So this morning I woke up earlier than I normally do and I was thinking about what I accomplished and didn’t finish yesterday with the writing of the Leverage for Growth book.

I had yesterday blocked off to record a voice to text audio of the first draft of the book. I had also created a commitment to ending the workday at my normal time of 4:30pm. No matter what and how far I’ve gotten. I completed the majority of the audio recording by 4:30pm, but I wasn’t finished and I had a conflict of interest for a second as I was also committing to finishing the recording by the end of the week.

I decided to stop with three portions of the last section to go so that I could hang out with my family at our normal time. So this morning I was wrestling with myself and wanted to complete what I was committed to completing to complete my target for the week. So I woke up before my alarm went off and my mind was ready.

I was still went through my normal morning routine to make sure I came from a place of power. And then I went in for the recording and got it completed. I am transcribing these recordings and they will become the first draft of a Leverage for Growth book. They’ll be released in the next month or so, and on the other side of completing what I was committed to completing for the week, I feel amazing.

So why is this important? Many time as entrepreneurs we make commitments to things and when we are tested on those commitments, we either make excuses or don’t follow through. The longer that we wait and we don’t do the work to complete what we said we are going to do, the more stories and feelings we start to associate with actually competing, completing it, which ultimately starts to put you and completing it, kind of like there’s a separation and the more reasons that come up for not getting the work done, the more it continues to separate you from achieving what you wanted to achieve.

And life always continues to teach you the same lesson over and over again until you actually learn it. And so leaning into our commitments is what separates those who win from those who dream of success but don’t actually ever achieve it. So it comes down to commitment and action and when tested prevailing. This occurs in all areas of life because as a person does, one thing, they do everything.

We need to seek out what we have said we are committed to doing and just complete it, doing whatever is required for as long as required until complete. So now it is time for the daily leverage to where in your world, whether in your life or business, have you been committed to doing something but unwilling to complete the commitment?

Is it in your life with your health and body? Is it in your life with your spirituality or self-direction? Is it in your relationships with your spouse, partner, or kids? Is it in your business, finances or team? And once you have located where you’ve been stalling, doing what is required to complete your commitment, my question is this What are you willing and able to do about it today?
