You are now listening to Leverage for Growth. Hi everybody. This is Jesse P. Gilmore, founder of Niche In Control, and the creator of Leverage for Growth. Welcome to the Daily Leverage Edition. Today’s topic is this. Who do I need to. Sit back and relax and enjoy today’s daily leverage. So this morning I was doing my morning routine of stacking and meditation, and I was reflecting on an all day workshop that I was a part of yesterday.
The workshop is focused on having it all in body, being balanced in business, and day one was uncovering who I am today, who am I in my body and health? Who am I and my being in spirit?. Who am I in my balance marriage and my with my kids? And who am I in my business and finances, marketing and leadership?
The interesting part about doing this exercise is the understanding that I’m radically different than I was only a month ago. I’ve been doing this exercise like this for a month now, and I have been able to track my progress in each area. The guiding light of how, uh, FARF become, uh, in looking at, uh, kind of.
ask myself, who do I need to become in order for? And then whatever I’m going after now, before I get into who I need to become and kind of understanding this, we must understand where I have come from, uh, in the start of this journey. So it started back in 2018. Where I was introduced to this concept of having it all.
And, uh, during that year, my impossible game was promotion. I was working, uh, within a 4 billion global corporation. Uh, I was a training and development specialist and, uh, I really wanted to lead a team. And in that one year when I stepped into this leadership role, uh, I got promoted to the senior leader of training and development, and I all of a sudden had a team of eight.
In the next year, 2019, uh, the work that we were doing within corporate America, uh, actually allowed the facility to be sold, uh, using the systems, um, uh, that we were developing. And so in 2019, I started nicheing control as kind of like a backup because of the acquisition. And I started the consulting business with a goal of location independence.
And in 2020, uh, it, the theme was my life’s work. And this is really where I created leverage for growth, uh, as a training program, uh, to achieve that location independence. And during Covid, uh, I had a daughter, uh, named Lumen. And during that period of time, I was basically going through a decade worth of entrepreneur.
Uh, you know, years of work and understanding what, uh, what worked, what didn’t work. Um, kind of combining it all into a program. If I was to teach my, you know, past self, um, some things to make it more enjoyable and entrepre, I live the life of entrepreneurship. Uh, and I also took everything from, uh, the, the learning in corporate America.
And I combined it all into one called Leverage for Growth. And so 2020 was really, uh, themed life. 2021, uh, really was where we achieved location independence, uh, where my wife left corporate America. And we went all in with NI control and, uh, in the beginning of 2022, uh, which was themed scalability. Um, I.
Ultimately send, basically sold out of my one-on-one spots. I had 15 one-on-one clients. Um, and I didn’t wanna work over, uh, 40 hours. And so in Q1 of, uh, this last year, uh, I ended up realizing that I really wanted to pivot the business to serve more people without increasing my hours. And so I went over a period of time, uh, all through 2020.
You know, hiring an operations manager, learning how to pivot, uh, creating the Alliance Mastermind for the six figure agencies, helping them scale, uh, determining the messaging and, and making it to where, uh, we could scale, um, the Mastermind. Now, why is this important? I had to become somebody different.
every single step of the way, whether it’s the annual impossible goal, or it is even the quarters of last year. I honestly, uh, had to go through a transformation of having to let go of my past self, my my old ways of operating in order for me to embrace a new version of myself that was emerging. And why is this important?
Many times we think that all we need to do is to do more things and when in actuality we need to become the person that does them naturally. Uh, you’ll find this a lot when, um, if you’ve been a part of our, uh, monthly workshops. and the January one was all based around how to smash your goals in 2023.
And it was this understanding that in order for you to achieve what you wanted to achieve, you must be somebody that makes that, uh, happen naturally. Then you have to do the things that allow you to have the thing that you want. So be do half. And a lot of times people with goal setting, they’re so focused on, okay, what do I wanna have?
Okay, what do we need to do? And then B is like the, the secondary part, and you’ll notice this through. And kinda like New Year’s resolutions. Actually at the time of this recording, it’s at the end of January, so, uh, most likely gyms are starting to not be as full. Uh, and this is just what happens with goal setting because a lot of people are not focused on who did they need to become.
Now, even some of our, uh, actually the majority of our agency clients and leverage for growth programs that are looking to scale, realize quite quickly that the how, uh, the how has been taken care of by the program. So, uh, answers to how do I scale my agency without burning out? Or how do I set up systems to allow others to do the work, uh, to serve clients while I focus on growth?
How do I transform my agency to sustain and grow without me? All these questions are answered in the program. . And so the question they are left with is, is not how, but actually who, who do I need to become in order to have what I want? Now, when you start to shift your mindset to realize that you have to let go of how you operated in the past in order for you to become the person you aspire to be.
you start to look at life a little bit differently. You actually have more control over the one thing that you can control, which is yourself. You come from a place of power and perspective that is needed in order for you to achieve what you are set out to achieve. And you can do this in all areas, make radical change happen.
Your best gift to the world is having a life that works. So now it is time for the daily. . So where in your world have you been reaching for something that you want and doing a lot of things, but you’re not actually getting what you want? Is it in your life with your health and body? Is it in your life with your spirituality or self-direction?
Is it in your relationships with your spouse or partner or kids? Is it with your business finances or. . Now, once you’ve located where you’ve been reaching for something in life by doing a lot of things, but you’re not getting anywhere, ask yourself this. Who do I need to become in order to get what I want in that category?
And once you’ve gotten clear on that, the second question is, what are you willing to do about it today? That is the end of our daily leverage. This is Jesse B. Gilmore, and you’ve been listening to the Leverage for Growth podcast.
