Today’s topic is this “Having Faith”. Sit back, relax and welcome to today’s daily leverage.
So this morning, I was doing my morning routine of stacking and reflecting on the concept of having faith in something bigger than ourselves.
In these last few days, I have been interviewing agency owners for the agency leverage episodes and a topic that we keep coming back to is the calling of entrepreneurship and the start of the dream to own a business
For some, the moment of decision to become an entrepreneur was a moment of clarity where they felt the calling from God like Michael Upshaw and Above the Cloud Media and Marketing.
For others, the moment of decision to start their agency came from noticing a gap in the market and creating a business to fulfill it like Phil Wiseman and Analytics That Profit
The moment of deciding to be an entrepreneur takes different forms but for each of us that are meant to be an entrepreneur, there is something that metaphorically taps us on the shoulder and nudges us towards this thing called entrepreneurship
Entrepreneurship is definitely not the easy route
There are far easier and simple paths to take in life
But for those that have chosen entrepreneurship (or have been chosen to be an entrepreneur)
It is something that is in our blood
It is something that makes us not tolerate the status quo
It is not something that we do but rather who we are
I have talked with enough business owners in my life to know that those that have absolute certainty and conviction in the direction of their life and business have faith
Having faith means different things to different people
There is no right or wrong way of having faith
Having faith has been conditioned by society, our family, friends and communities to be related to church or organized religion
When in actuality, having faith is something much more personal and individual than others will have you think
Having faith can be simply having faith that what you are doing every day matters
Having faith can be believing in something that is greater than yourself
Having faith can be simply believing in yourself and your capabilities to rise to your highest potential
Without faith, people succumb to their own cycles and get stuck in a life by default
What does faith mean to me?
Faith means that I am on a path and being guided by something bigger than myself
I have seen too many things in my life that remind me that there is something bigger than me
Whether it is people, circumstances, dreams, or even numbers that come into my world at exactly the right time and lead me to the next step
Part of the reason that I journal so often is because I am documenting this journey from where I have been, where I am today and where I am going tomorrow
In order to capture the essence of what I call the Voice
Throughout a challenging childhood, I went away from organized religion and got into many various forms of connecting with God, my higher self, the universe
Whether it was through my rebellious time in my teens, the number 1234 following me around and leading me to becoming an entrepreneur, drugs and partying in my twenties, having a “coming to Jesus” moment and almost dying from hypothermia in 2012, or most recently becoming completely sober and finding guidance through journaling and stacking
I have always been a person of faith
It has taken many forms throughout my life
This has led me to where I am today
Having faith that I am called to serve over 1 million people within the next 5 years
Through my book, podcast, course and our masterminds
All to support entrepreneurs in their realization of their dream
Their calling to expand
To grow
Their mission in life as an entrepreneur
I believe if you were called to become an entrepreneur in this lifetime
Your greatest gift to the world is to have a life and business by design and expand
As we expand our businesses, we expand our impact
We live our vision
We inspire others to live their vision
We make the world a better place
Where we are no longer at the whim of circumstances
We control the direction of our life
We lead others
By leading ourselves
We must have faith to persevere when the challenges are there
To live the dream
Called entrepreneurship
Why is this important?
Many times as entrepreneurs, we think that working harder and simply keeping our head down and getting work done is what success is made of
Success is found in believing in yourself and having faith that you are being guided from every experience towards the realization of your calling
Sometimes that means that the direction changes, businesses shift, hardships are incurred
But through the challenges, we become stronger
When we believe in ourselves
When we have faith that our greatest gift to the world is to expand
To live a life that works
To let go of the past and embrace a new future
In the present
With our head held high
Knowing that we are on a mission
To learn, to grow, to expand
Life is not about the destination
It is about the journey
Embracing the journey with faith allows you to step into the higher version of yourself that is awaiting
Now it is time for daily leverage.
Where in your world whether in your life or business, have you been lacking faith or trust in yourself or something bigger than you?
Is it in your life with your health or body?
Is it in your life with your spirituality or self-direction?
Is it in your relationships with your spouse, partner or kids?
Is it in your business or finances or team?
Once you have located where you have been lacking faith or trust and you know what you need to change.
My question to you is this…
What are you willing and able to do about it today?
