You are now listening to Leverage for Growth. Hey everybody this is Jesse P. Gilmore founder of Niche in Control and creator of the Leverage for Growth, welcome to the daily leverage edition.
Today’s topic is this “Let It Flow”. Sit back, relax and welcome to today’s daily leverage.
So this morning, I was doing my morning routine of stacking and reflecting on all of the work that I have put into my life and business to set a course, get the routines in place, the execution of the strategy and having the right people and teams in place to bring the vision into reality.
If you have been following me for a while, you have seen how transformational applying Leverage for Growth to my own business has been
I have had an internal journey of transformation that took me from struggling to simply having faith to move towards the life and business by design
I have continued to look at life and myself differently
I am finding that every moment is an opportunity for me to learn and grow
When I go with the flow and am not attached to the outcome of any particular situation but have faith that what I am doing matters and is aligned with my calling
Everything is lighter
Easier
In the Leverage for Growth programs, whether it is our course Accelerator, our mastermind Alliance or working with me 1:1 in our program Advantage
Each of them introduces the framework of the Three Selves
The Current Self
The Future Self
The Becoming Self
If you were to look at your life through the lens of the Three Selves, you understand that every day you are walking around with all three selves inside of you
The Current Self is the answer to Who are you?
It is made up of all of your past choices and experiences
Your personality
Your habits that you have been conditioned to do
Your belief systems
Etc.
The current self is limited by the past and identifying solely with your current self keeps you chained to the decisions of the past
The Future Self is the answer to Who do you want to become?
The future self is your higher self
The part of you that you aspire to become over time
The Future self is who you want to be remembered for when you pass on into the next adventure after this life
The future self is who you are called to become
The gap between where you are today (Current Self) and where you want to be in the future (Future Self) is painful when you only focus on these two parts of yourself
There will always be a gap
Many people live their lives in this duality of Current Self and Future Self and this creates what is called a pattern of existence
The highs and lows of experience that lead towards peaks and pits
The average of these peaks and pits are what you consider to be normal
Without the introduction and embracing of your Becoming Self, you will feel trapped by yourself and the imposter takes over
You live life by default and there are ceilings to what you can experience in your life and business
The Becoming Self is the answer to who are you becoming in the process of bridging your Current and Future selves
The part of you that lets go of the past and recognizes the limitations that you have put on yourself and lets go of unhealthy and unproductive habits, routines, people, beliefs
The part of you that focuses on the progress you have made between today and yesterday
The part of you that focuses on hitting singles daily
The part of you that makes a 1 degree shift every day and in 6 months of doing so, you are a completely different person
If we know that if you continue doing the same thing that you did yesterday and expect different results that you are fooling yourself
Then the only other option is to simply commit to becoming someone different
Embracing this new version of yourself that is emerging
One of the biggest things that I had to let go of in the beginning of Niche in Control was drinking alcohol
That habit was one of the most powerful addictions that I got rid of
I had defined myself as a social drinker and someone who loved to party and had a high tolerance for drinking
Yet it was killing me on the inside
When I let go of that habit from my Current Self and embraced this new version of myself that was emerging, I regained my power
It took a while before I was completely sober but I focused on the 1 degree shifts I could make daily
I replaced alcohol with green smoothies as a representation that when I felt the desire to drink alcohol and regress back to my old self
I drank a green smoothie as a representation that the new me is healthy
Doing that after a few months made it so I felt cravings for green smoothies and no desire for alcohol
When you begin to embrace the idea that you don’t have to make radical changes in order to become who you want to become
But rather focus on making 1 degree shifts daily and focusing on progress
You are becoming more of the person you aspire to be
You are allowing yourself to let it go, in order to grow
Why is this important?
Many times as entrepreneurs, we focus on making big moves in life and business
That everything must be big, huge and massive
So we spend time thinking, planning, contemplating
Rather than making small moves today
Taking imperfect action now, rather than trying to get everything perfect
We get stuck in our thoughts and beliefs of the past
Yet we want something different than we have experienced before
We fall victim to circumstances, not understanding that we are creating them
We must realize that there are three parts of ourselves that want to be expressed and understood
By understanding who you want to become, who you are today and who you are becoming in the process of bridging the gap
You start to understand that in order to get what you want out of life
Simply comes down to letting it go in order to grow
And once you get into a rhythm that is working for you
Let it flow and don’t overthink it
Now it is time for daily leverage.
Where in your world whether in your life or business, have you been holding onto the thoughts, actions, experiences or beliefs of the past and it is keeping you from moving forward towards your dreams?
Is it in your life with your health or body?
Is it in your life with your spirituality or self-direction?
Is it in your relationships with your spouse, partner or kids?
Is it in your business or finances or team?
Once you have located where you have been holding onto the past and in order to grow you must let it go.
My question to you is this…
What are you willing and able to do about it today?
That is the end of our daily leverage. This is Jesse P. Gilmore and you have been listening to the Leverage for Growth podcast.
