You are now listening to Leverage for Growth. Hey everybody this is Jesse P. Gilmore founder of Niche in Control and creator of the Leverage for Growth, welcome to the daily leverage edition.
Today’s topic is this “Death & Rebirth”. Sit back, relax and welcome to today’s daily leverage.

So this morning I woke up at 2:30 in the morning dealing with a dog that is very close to the end.

For the last year or so there has been a theme in my life and those around me about this idea of a death and a rebirth.

In my lifetime, what I’ve noticed is that as one chapter ends another begins. The cycle of life continues.

There is always some part of life that requires a death or an end so that something else can begin.

Many times they are not seemingly related and other times they are.

This weekend we are going to have to make a difficult decision about our dog.

We have been holding onto our dog knowing that he is unhappy and he has gone blind partially deaf and has lost a lot of weight.

We have tried many different ways to revive him, help him recover or allow him to beat this and become a young self again.

However, in doing so we have unconsciously held him without letting go for longer than he actually would want.

The concept of death is one that many shy away from.

But as humans we understand that’s not everything last forever that there will always be an end at some point.

We are mortal beings.

And many times we go throughout our day not really understanding for being grateful for the experiences that we do experience.

Whether it is life on this earth

Or an idea that we have had or a routine or a habit that we have held onto, I comes a time when the death must happen in order for a new life to begin.

A new idea to be born.

A new habit to be formed.

It is in this death and rebirth cycle we find ourselves in a place of having to let go.

In post death there are many feelings that we feel.

Anger, blame, guilt, shame.

And if in our minds we don’t reframe this death we will feel as though some thing has died within us or that everything around us is crumbling.

But instead we are given a gift to look at the good parts that come from a death.

In this case the celebration of the life of our dog.

In other cases celebration of the experience I was had from an idea that is no longer worth pursuing.

We must find ways to embrace a death and rebirth cycle so that we may be in control and guide our thoughts, actions and beliefs to look at the situation as a gift.

So why is it important?

As entrepreneurs and most likely parents we are constantly given a gift and experience whether it is through challenges, successes, or ordinary life. It is up to us to choose how we view the things that happened to us. It is up to us to find a gift in the midst of the challenge.

When we can control our own emotions, thoughts, beliefs regardless of the situation that we face, we become a beacon of light in the darkness.

We lead our teams differently. We lead our families differently.

We come from a place of certainty in the midst of uncertainty. We come from a place of inner self leader ship, south confidence.

This is what is required of us to live at the highest level as entrepreneurs.

Now it is time for daily leverage.

Where in your world whether in your life or business, have you been holding onto something that needs to be let go of so that new life can be brought in? What in your life has to die in order for another to be reborn?

Is it in your life with your health or body?

Is it in your life with your spirituality or self-direction?

Is it in your relationships with your spouse, partner or kids?

Is it in your business or finances or team?

Once you have located where you have been holding on and you know what you need to change.

My question to you is this…

What are you willing and able to do about it today?
