You are now listening to Leverage for Growth. Hey everybody this is Jesse P. Gilmore founder of Niche in Control and creator of the Leverage for Growth, welcome to the daily leverage edition.
Today’s topic is this “Get to the Root of the Problem”. Sit back, relax and welcome to today’s daily leverage.
So this morning, I was doing my morning routine of stacking and reflecting on a conversation that was had in our Alliance mastermind group yesterday.
The discussion began centered around the topic of achieving more deals and closing new contracts.
As we began on the topic and learning more about one of our members, the topic shifted towards the vision for their agency and where do they see the agency in the next decade
The conversation deepened as we continued to peel back the layers of understanding to discover what was happening in a sales call
As we continued, the topic got into life and business by design and personal fulfillment
What her definition of success is
What drives her to continue with the agency
What the actual issue is so we can solve it
What happens on a sales call has more to do with the inner certainty and conviction than the tactics used
One of the ways I used to describe this is that the thing that we see that we want is like the fruit on a tree.
That fruit might be more clients, increased sales, more take home pay
The leaves around the fruit might be the sales conversation and what led towards the scheduling of the call
The branches are more about positioning and messaging
The trunk of the tree is the business itself and how it functions to serve customers, employees and the market
The roots of the tree are the founders vision, beliefs and mindset
When we are so focused on the fruit, we must shift to focus on the root
Too often the marketing messages are having us believe that we are not using the right tactic or even strategy in our business
I would like you to imagine for a moment that ANY strategy or tactic will work for someone if they believe it will work AND they are dedicated to mastering it
What I have noticed working with hundreds of business owners over the years is that success has more to do with the founders beliefs, actions, integrity and mindset than it has to do with tactics or strategies
You can put the right strategies and tactics in front of someone and give them all of the knowledge and tools needed to succeed
But only a percentage of them will take the tools and strategy and make something with them
Some people commit to learning and applying the knowledge needed for a season
Then if it doesn’t work right away, they are off to the next one
With the excuse that it wasn’t for them
I would argue that the real issue at hand is the switching of strategies without committing to mastery
Focusing on improving the founders mindsets, beliefs, and commitment
I learned over the last week in another masterminds two day workshop that there are three ingredients to success
Structure
Support
Stand
Structure is needed in order to follow a proven process and unify people
Support is needed to hold each other accountable and realize that you are not alone
Stand is the individual taking a stand for something they believe in, something they feel called to achieve
When structure and support are available at higher levels, we must increase our stand or commitment to become a success
This is what happens with mindset when we dive deep
This is what happened yesterday in the alliance mastermind call
We had a powerful conversation that I know changed someone’s life
All because we focused on the root of the issue
This is what I am and have always been committed to for our clients
True root cause analysis and shifts
Many other programs for agencies will focus on the fruit
We focus on the root
The road to success is paved in the commitment to mastery
Not of tactics
But mastery of self
Why is this important?
Many times as entrepreneurs, we focus all of our time and energy on the things that we can see
We focus on trying to solve an issue by fixing the symptoms
When instead, we need to go deeper
We get nervous about what we will find if we peel back the layers
To find the real issue
To find the real problem
To find the real solution
To often are we afraid of the dark
That we keep ourselves away from the light
From what we truly want
We become our own worst enemies
Not because we are doing it intentionally or consciously
It is unconscious
It is what we have been conditioned to think or believe
It is time for us to regain control of our lives by diving deeper within ourselves
To find the path
Not anyone else’s
But our own
To have a vision for our life
To believe that we can make it happen
With the right structure and support
We are enabled to increase our commitment to creating our life and business by design
Not designed by anyone else
Not designed by our environment
Not designed by the government
By us
For us
For our families
For our employees
For those we are called to serve
Not tomorrow
Starting today
Deepen your commitment
Take a stand for what you want in life
Get clear on what that is for you
Block out the noise and stay focused
Focused on the road to success
Whatever success means to you
Because in doing so, you allow the universe to conspire for you to achieve it
It starts with you
Now it is time for daily leverage.
Where in your world whether in your life or business, have you been focusing on the fruit when you should be focusing on the root?
Is it in your life with your health or body?
Is it in your life with your spirituality or self-direction?
Is it in your relationships with your spouse, partner or kids?
Is it in your business or finances or team?
Once you have located where you have been focused on the fruit and you know what you need to change.
My question to you is this…
What are you willing and able to do about it today?
That is the end of our daily leverage. This is Jesse P. Gilmore and you have been listening to the Leverage for Growth podcast.
