You are now listening to Leverage for Growth. Hey everybody, this is Jesse P. Gilmore, founder of Niche in Control and creator of Leverage for Growth. Welcome to the Daily Leverage Edition. Today’s topic is this, embracing simplicity, navigating through life’s big moments. Sit back, relax, and welcome to today’s Daily Leverage. So today we’re going to talk about what happens when life throws a curve ball at you, like it did with my recent birth of my beautiful daughter, Adeline. We’re going to chat about the power of getting back to the basics and resetting life after major milestones. So anyone who has ever been a new parent knows it is a whirlwind. Feedings, diapers, lack of sleep, it all becomes a blur. And in that blur, it’s so easy to lose sight of our healthy habits. For me, I found my salvation going back to the basics. Nutrition, fitness, meditation, journaling. These habits may seem minor compared to the mammoth task of raising a newborn, but trust me, they are lifesavers. Getting back to the basics and these habits, they’ve done a wonderful thing for me. They’ve ignited my motivation and gave me a sense of direction. I set physical goals for myself again, like running a 10K and actually another half marathon before the end of the year, and I’ve found that it helped me find a sense of normalcy in the parenting chaos. journaling and meditation also reconnected me to my core values, to my mission. And now in the turmoil of being a parent for the third time and really having any type of major life event, I have realized that our relationships sometimes take a hit. For me, reprioritizing connections, especially with my family, is a game changer. Regular date nights with my wife, reconnecting with my kids and having quality time, these actions heal and reinforce the bonds strained by the demands of nonstop parenting. And I can’t stress this enough, these simple routines are what has kept me anchored in the sea of change. Fitness, journaling, family time, these are my lifelines. They’re not just my lifelines. From spiritual leaders to parenting experts, The benefits of such fundamental self-care practices have been widely recognized, and they help us stay grounded even when life is doing its best to upend us. So one of the big lessons from this whole experience for me was how these fundamental habits have allowed me to stay connected to my broader purpose. During chaotic times, it’s so easy to lose sight of the big picture. But remembering my passion to serve others, to make an impact, and that has kept me anchored. helped me navigate throughout this chaos. And major life events can toss us into uncharted waters. But the thing is, we all have the tools to navigate our way back. It’s about embracing simplicity and leaning into those fundamental habits. Simple things like nutrition, fitness, mindfulness, connection. And when we do that, we find our way back to balance, back to what truly matters. So remember. Start with the basics and the rest will follow. So now it’s time for the daily leverage. So where in your world, whether in your life or business, have you experienced a big life moment and are needing to get back to simplicity? Is it in your life with your health and body? Is it in your life with your spirituality or self-direction? Is it in your relationships with your spouse, partner, or kids? Is it in your business, finances, or team? And once you’ve located where you need an adjustment to a big life moment, and you know what you need to change, my question to you is this, what are you willing and able to do about it today? That is the end of the Daily Leverage. This is Jesse P. Gilmore. You’ve been listening to Leverage for Growth podcast.
