Episode 20: Consistency Over Long Periods of Time

Episode Date:Feb 22, 2023

True commitment is not putting your head high in the sky and thinking that you will commit to something for a season and if it doesn’t work you will try something different. Most things that are worth committing to require a ton of effort in the beginning to get started and then it requires consistency and commitment for a long period of time. Most people quit at the stage where they are not getting results but they are so close to getting the results they have been working towards. They are 6 feet away from gold.

You are now listening to Leverage for Growth. Hey everybody this is Jesse P. Gilmore founder of Niche in Control and creator of the Leverage for Growth, welcome to the daily leverage edition.

Today’s topic is this: “Consistency over long periods of time”. Sit back, relax and welcome to today’s daily leverage.

So this morning, I was doing my morning routine of running while listening to a podcast and reflecting on a topic that was brought up which is how consistency wins the race.

People commit to things for a month, or six months and get discouraged and give up.

Then they wonder why they don’t have the life and business or relationships that they want.

That isn’t commitment.

True commitment.

True commitment is not putting your head high in the sky and thinking that you will commit to something for a season and if it doesn’t work you will try something different.

In our leverage for growth programs we show graphs and visuals of how the combination of time, effort and results in life work.

Most things that are worth committing to require a ton of effort in the beginning to get started and then it requires consistency and commitment for a long period of time.

Most people quit at the stage where they are not getting results but they are so close to getting the results they have been working towards.

They are 6 feet away from gold.

Whether this is from

Having the body and health that they desire

Having the spirituality and purpose in life they want

Having the relationships with their spouse, partner or kids they want

Having the business and financial game that they want

The key is to stay committed and stay consistent

Consistency doesn’t mean home runs every day but it means hitting singles

Daily

In all categories of life

For years or decades.

I do this through

Working out daily

Having a green smoothie and my supplements daily while eating right

Meditating for 20 minutes daily

Writing in a journal or stacking daily

Writing notes to my wife and kids daily

Learning something new in business and teaching it to someone else daily

Recording a podcast episode and sharing my experience of transformation daily.

This daily commitment is simply a commitment to having the life and business I want now and ten years from now

Why is this important?

Many times as entrepreneurs, we say we are committed to something and try to get into a routine with it

Yet we only hold the consistency for a week, month or year

Not realizing that if we just kept going

We would achieve what we are truly after

Life and business by design is not a short term game

It is a long term game

Being committed to do the daily actions that get you what you want is how you get there

Now it is time for the daily leverage.

Where in your world whether in your life or business, have you been saying you are committed to something but are unwilling to put in the daily consistent work towards getting what you want?

Is it in your life with your health or body?

Is it in your life with your spirituality or self-direction?

Is it in your relationships with your spouse, partner or kids?

Is it in your business or finances or team?

Once you have located where you have been lacking commitment and know what you need to change

What are you willing and able to do about it today?

That is the end of our daily leverage. This is Jesse P. Gilmore and you have been listening to the Leverage for Growth podcast.
