You are now listening to Leverage for Growth. Hey everybody this is Jesse P. Gilmore founder of Niche in Control and creator of the Leverage for Growth, welcome to the daily leverage edition.

Today’s topic is this “Strategic Partnerships”. Sit back, relax and welcome to today’s daily leverage

So this morning, I was doing my morning routine of stacking and reflecting on a meeting I had with one of the members of another mastermind that I am a part of.

Before I get into this partnership, I need to provide a bit of context through a short story

The Gilmore family has generations of health issues regarding cardiovascular disease and many other unhealthy habits that have been passed down from generation to generation for as long as I know

My dad has dealt with health issues around his heart and bad diets for decades

My mom dealt with diets and challenges with nutrition for a long time when I was a child

Their parents have dealt with issues with nutrition and unhealthy habits as well

For most of my life, I felt that I wanted to be different and to not take on these habits as well

I want to be the one in my family to live till 100

Not to simply live long

But rather to be there for my kids

To show them a different way

To break the generational cycle

For just under a decade, I thought that my way to break the cycle was to run marathons and work out a bunch

Never changing my diet

I made improvements to my diet by eliminating the 3 shot mochas I used to have daily

Cutting out alcohol in 2018 and having the last drink in 2020

Choosing to eat organic food the majority of the time and eating out less frequently

However, my weight and how I was in my body was not truly fixing the cycle

If I didn’t work out, I gained back all the weight that I had lost previously and the cycle continued

So last year I made it a point that I would make a diet, have a nutritional plan and a fitness plan

Then I would stick to it and see how many days in a row I could hold it

This didn’t work

I lost 17 pounds by running 2 full marathons and 2 half marathons last year

I made progress but in Q4, when the races were not scheduled any more, I started going back to my old eating habits

In January of this year, I made it a monthly mission to get this handled for good and not do it alone

I connected with Mark who is a member of another mastermind that I am a part of and his specialty is working with males that are 35-55 years old and help them regain control of their body through customized diets, nutritional supplements, and fitness routines

In a 30 minute call, he asked me all of the questions he needed and by the end of the day, I had a list of everything I needed to be intentional about my body

Within the next 24 hours, I ordered the supplements he recommended, I started the meal plan that he recommended and I began to incorporate the fitness plan he recommended into my daily and weekly routines

It has only been a month and I feel like my is significantly improving more and my confidence level is through the roof

My impossible game for body is to be at 165 pounds, 13% body fat and 44% muscle mass

I am going in for a DexaScan in the next couple weeks to get my actuals but I can feel the difference already

So how does this relate to strategic partnerships and why is this important?

Many times as entrepreneurs, we are focused on covering up what we are weak in or what we struggle with, in hopes that it gets figured out or the issue goes away

We think that we may be able to do it alone

When in actuality, we just need someone to come into our world and help us with their strength which is our weakness

When we can form and cultivate mutually beneficial relationships and partnerships with these people, we all grow and expand

Our vision does not seem like we are pushing a boulder up a mountain

We can see that anything is possible and it just requires us to be vulnerable and open about where we are and what we are struggling with so that we can find those that can help us achieve our dreams in life and business

Now it is time for the daily leverage.

Where in your world whether in your life or business, have you been reluctant to be vulnerable and own up to the challenges that you are facing?

Is it in your life with your health or body?

Is it in your life with your spirituality or self-direction?

Is it in your relationships with your spouse, partner or kids?

Is it in your business or finances or team?

Once you have located where you have been hiding your struggles and you know what needs to change.

What are you willing and able to do about it today?

That is the end of our daily leverage. This is Jesse P. Gilmore and you have been listening to the Leverage for Growth podcast.
