You are now listening to Leverage for Growth. Hey everybody this is Jesse P. Gilmore founder of Niche in Control and creator of the Leverage for Growth, welcome to the daily leverage edition.
Today’s topic is this “Be Here Now”. Sit back, relax and welcome to today’s daily leverage.
So this morning, I was doing my morning routine of stacking and reflecting on this idea that we are all very busy and a lot of things are pulling us in different directions.
Whether we are an entrepreneur, parent, husband or wife, or a member of the community we are constantly fighting for our chance to not be distracted from our own goals.
Our society is filled with opportunities to be distracted, to sedate, to be entertained and find joy in giving up our freedom to direct our own life.
There are more distractions and ways to waste time then ever before.
From the apps on your phone, to the meaningless games, to the marketing messages and the media, to the news and is constantly focus and dread, so even the people around you continually complaining about their life but not doing anything about it.
This cycle will continue till the end of time.
There’ll never be a time where there are people around you trying to distract you from your goals. It is important for all of us to take note of how we feel about her life.
We may enjoy everything that we are doing and live in alignment with our purpose for a living.
Or there might be a misalignment and we may feel very bad about our life. Past choices that have been made, mistakes, things that we can’t take back
Dwelling on the past drains us from our potential in the here and now
We have to remember that the only way that goals are achieved, change is made, our life is made better, is through being here now
Being in this present moment
Without the baggage of the past weighing us down
Without holding onto the past choices that we made
But simply being open to the possibilities in the present moment
Eckhart Tolle explains this in his book, The Power of Now, which is a book that i have studied for over 10 years now
It has helped me cope and let go of my past so that I can be open to the opportunities in this moment
To let go in order to grow
To have faith that things are happening exactly the way they are supposed to and it is up to me to find the gift in the moment
When we can tune out the distractions and focus on the present moment without the weight of the past or the frustration of not being farther along on our path
But to simply be here now and accept the moment as if it were chosen
We open ourselves up to possibilities that we would never have seen before
We see that how we show up is what truly matters
When you show up with presence
Anything is possible
Why is this important?
Many times as entrepreneurs, we go throughout life feeling as though we are constantly in a state of remembering the past or associating with the desire of the future
Without being present
We find ourselves in this rat maze of not feeling fulfilled by life because we are not closer to our goals while at the same time, doing and dwelling on the things of the past
While letting go of the past is simple, it is not easy
We as humans have a tendency to create an identity from the past
It is how we have always been
Yet we desire something different
If we were to simply choose to be more present
To be more open
To be here now
We would see that we hold the key to our own problems
We have the solution in front of us
We just need to be here now
Now it is time for daily leverage.
Where in your world whether in your life or business, have you been focusing too much on the past or forecasting the future, without being present?
Is it in your life with your health or body?
Is it in your life with your spirituality or self-direction?
Is it in your relationships with your spouse, partner or kids?
Is it in your business or finances or team?
Once you have located where you have been distracted from the present moment and you know what you need to change.
My question to you is this…
What are you willing and able to do about it today?
That is the end of our daily leverage. This is Jesse P. Gilmore and you have been listening to the Leverage for Growth podcast.
