You are now listening to Leverage for Growth. Hey everybody this is Jesse P. Gilmore founder of Niche in Control and creator of the Leverage for Growth, welcome to the daily leverage edition.
Today’s topic is this “Back to the Basics”. Sit back, relax and welcome to today’s daily leverage.

So this morning, I was doing my morning routine and reflecting on how important it is these days to keep things simple.

As I start a new week after a holiday weekend, there are a few things that allow me to ease into the week without feeling rushed, overwhelmed, or constrained by the shorter work week

In times that there is a lot of normal pressure to pack as much in, I take a different approach

I look at the top 20% of activities that would make the biggest difference in my life and business

I see how my actions today are aligned with my long term goals

I get back to the basics of alignment and structure

Naturally, I was never good at routines and habits

Before Niche in Control, I was living life by default

Constantly adjusting my plans based on the circumstances of the day

This led me to not feel in control of my life and business direction

However, now I do something very different

I don’t get overwhelmed

I get focused

Not on doing as much as I can

But rather doing as little as I can

Making every move that I make, a conscious choice

Choosing how I want to live my life today

The mastermind that I was a part of for the last couple years provided me with the structure and support I needed to make these habits ingrained into who I am and how I operate

I almost tricked myself into going back to the old habits of life by default

I am grateful to know better these days

I know that external circumstances will not dictate my behavior because I have a choice

You have a choice

Today

You can either allow the past circumstances to dictate your future or you can consciously choose the inputs that make the biggest impact

This comes from the basic fundamental understanding that you are in control of your destiny, one moment, one choice at a time

When life and business become complicated or complex, the best thing that you can do is go back to the basics

Slow down

Make conscious decisions

Use data

Focus on relationships

Focus on your health

Focus on what has worked for you before

Do more of what works and less of what doesn’t

The basics are where you will find your grounding

From this grounded place, you will be able to build up the certainty and confidence needed to take on the advancement of your life and business

If your life and business feels chaotic, complex or complicated these days, take time to get back to the basics

Here are 15 examples that you can use and assess where you need to focus on getting back to the basics
