You are now listening to Leverage for Growth. Hey everybody this is Jesse P. Gilmore founder of Niche in Control and creator of the Leverage for Growth, welcome to the daily leverage edition.
Today’s topic is this “Being Proactive with Mental Health”. Sit back, relax and welcome to today’s daily leverage.

So this morning, I was doing my morning routine and reflecting on the last few months that I have been reprogramming my subconscious mind to stay in abundance.

This comes after a week long vacation that I had with my family and without work

I have always had a tendency to take things to the extreme

Whether that is my body – full marathons

With my being – writing, publishing and promoting my own book

With my balance – deciding to have 3 kids

With my business – going from 6-figures to multi-7-figures in 12 months

I always am looking for ways to improve, to grow, to learn and apply

To expand and become more of who I am aspiring to be

In this ever expanding journey that I find myself on, I have a tendency to be very hard on myself

To expect more

More of me

More of my results

Faster

Stronger

I have built routines and habits that allow me to regulate myself so that I don’t burn out

But sometimes they work and sometimes they don’t

I learn from my mistakes or challenges and continue to be 1% better than I was yesterday

Sometimes I win, sometimes I learn

The vacation from normal life and the business allowed me to see

To see me for who I am and who I am becoming

To be proactive with my own mental health

Unlike my clients, I have to be my own coach

The mastermind I was a part of before did not do what I needed so I left

Now it is me, myself and I

With my intuition and my connection to God, the universe, the voice, whatever you want to call it

In my independence, I find peace

I find that no one is going to save me

Other than me

No longer am I needing someone else to guide me

I am in a state of being proactive in giving myself the things that I need to exceed my goals

These things that I give myself are intangible

Things like grace, patience, acceptance, self love, appreciation, reflection, and purpose

In doing so, I am able to be more present

Present for myself, my family and my clients

Mental health is not something that many people talk about because they are afraid of how people will view them

The truth is that mental health is something that we all have to deal with

The world is too complex to think that having to be proactive with mental health is only for those who have mental issues

Many times, people just need to be heard, accepted and given space to simply be

Without judgment

Without shame

Without blame

Without guilt

To simply be free to be themselves

Whatever the situation

This is something I am offering to my clients

Space to be

Space to explore themselves

Space to incorporate things like grace, patience, understanding, and peace

While they take on new challenges, new transformations, new roles within their life and business

Life and business by design is an ever evolving process

It is not something that you do once and you are good

Your preferences change

Your desires change

Your modes of operating change

In doing so, you are going to be challenged

At the same time, you are going to be rewarded

The journey of self discovery and self mastery is one that is life long

It requires that you be proactive with your mental health and your mindset

If you want to create a life and business by design, and truly live your dreams

You have to make mental health a priority

Not when it is an emergency situation

Today, now, in this moment

By doing so, you control the one thing that you can control in this world

You

Why is this important?

Many times as entrepreneurs, we feel driven to focus on the things that matter

The things that can be seen

The results of our business

Sometimes at the expense of ourselves

We think that we must sacrifice ourselves in order for the business to thrive

This could not be farther from the truth

All growth comes OUTSIDE of your comfort zone

So you have to get uncomfortable in order to grow

When you try new things and start to expand, you are going to fail

You are going to have to pick yourself back up again and again

The only way to do this for as long as required for you to win

Is by taking an active role in your own mental health

This means

Working out

Eating right

Journaling

Meditating

Removing distractions

Turning off notifications on your phone

No screens 2 hours before bedtime

Spending the first hour of the day focused on you

Learning something new in business

Teaching someone what you have learned

Investing time and energy into your spouse and kids

Not expecting a return on the investment into your family

Being aware of who you are and who you are becoming

Giving yourself the space to create and simply be yourself

Finding those on a similar path and sharing your story with others

In doing so, you tap into an abundant mind and unlock 1 of 3 pillars to growth in your life and business

Now it is time for daily leverage.

Where in your world whether in your life or business, which category have you been neglecting your mental health?

Is it in your life with your health or body?

Is it in your life with your spirituality or self-direction?

Is it in your relationships with your spouse, partner or kids?

Is it in your business or finances or team?

Once you have located where you have been neglecting your mental health and you know what you need to change.

My question to you is this…

What are you willing and able to do about it today?

That is the end of our daily leverage. This is Jesse P. Gilmore and you have been listening to the Leverage for Growth podcast.
